This site is a collective effort by individuals and human rights activists in India some of whom had the privilege of working and collaborating with Dr. K Balagopal. This site hopes to act a permanent memorial and an archive on the work of K Balagopal and to highlight the work of human rights initiatives. This is a non profit and educational initiative.

  3. Thanks so much for this website. I hope people read his writings and understand Balagopal Sirs thoughts and convictions. Its a great loss to the human rights fraternity and more importantly for the victims / survivors of HR violations whom he managed to reach out through his fact findings every weekend. Thanks for putting up his photographs also.

  6. Thanks for the website and the link to all Balagopal’s articles, particulalrly as EPW has become accessible only through Jstor. We, from West Bengal, now experiencing the CPI(Maoist) activities and as expected, are going through the debates that Balagopal and others in Andhrapradesh went through a decade back. It is interesting that Koteswar Rao @ Kishenji, has mentioned that in response to an open letter. That way, we, who are for the tribal peoples’ rights, but has questions about the strategies involved, meaning those who are not against violence per se, but when it is felt to be unjust, we will miss him more.
